Our company mission statement incorporates the following key elements:
We achieve these objectives through the following:
Since the turn of the century the name Pedemont has been associated with Furniture Transport, Removals and Storage. The company was established in Ashfield in the late 1890's by Joe Pedemont, and has always been a family business, being maintained through successive generations of the Pedemont family to its present day owners, Tony Pedemont and his wife, Del. Tony is the great grandson of Joe, and bought the business from his father, Roy Pedemont, in the mid 1970's and, like the generations before him, is dedicated to the business of moving people and their possessions, new furniture transportation and the storage of all items from Airplanes to Christmas Trees. Tony has expanded the company's boundaries, which now has depots in Brisbane, Melbourne & Queanbeyan, in addition to the head office in Chipping Norton, Sydney, which has been the home of the company since it relocated there from Croyden Park in 1976. Today the company incorporates several divisions and boasts a fleet of over 60 vehicles (trucks and trailers) and in excess of 400 storage containers. The fifth generation of Pedemonts has already started working for the company. Jack has completed his mechanic's apprenticeship in the workshop, Jayne is a clerical assistant in the main office, and Bill has almost completed his Warehousing and Distribution traineeship.

Since 1998, Pedemont Furniture Transport has a proud member of the TruckSafe accreditation program, and considers itself to be a leading example of how commitment to this program can be a major benefit to the company, its staff and its clients.
Today, approximately 25 per cent of Pedemonts' business is involved with the removal of domestic households, with over 1000 households entrusting them with their moves each year. One pleasing indicator to the level of satisfaction that Pedemonts gives its clients is that about 30 to 40 per cent of these jobs are returned clients or referrals. This is due mostly to the professional and well-skilled employees that form the backbone of the company. A full packing service is available and arrangements for transport of pets and motor vehicles are made for the client. Additionally, should clients require their goods to be stored for any period of time, Pedemonts can house the items in their secure storage facility. Containers are housed in undercover “Regular-Access” areas or in enclosed warehouses.
One of Pedemonts main areas of expertise is the handling of shop and office relocations and the associated moving of shop-fittings and delicate equipment. Clients have included QANTAS, Rays Refrigeration, TNT, Boral Windows, Smorgens-Southcorp, Medical Clinics, State Rail, NSW Transit Police, NSW Aboriginal Land Council and many more.

Helpful Hints When Moving
Pedemonts offers containerised storage, with a stock of over 400 containers. Goods can be picked up in the container, stored and redelivered with the minimum handling possible, which means the minimum chance of damage or loss of goods. Containers are stored within a security yard and in fully secure warehouses and can be sealed with the client's own padlock, if required. This high level of security, coupled with the warehouses modern fire and flood protection has enabled clients to transfer home contents insurance from Australia's leading insurance companies, but full cover is also available from Pedemonts own insurers. Goods are picked up and delivered using specialised container-carrying trucks and a nation-wide service is available using the greatly improved rail network. Due to the wide range of services offered by the company, Pedemonts is able to pick-up and receive large amounts of furniture, shopfittings, cartons and related equipment, store them for short or long periods of time and redeliver them, all with a minimum of fuss.

Pedemonts is one of Australia's leading new furniture transporters, servicing companies such as Grace Bros (Myers), Harvey Norman, Domayne, Captain Snooze & many more, and has built a respected reputation for expert handling of furniture and bedding. Over the years, manufacturer's have included Parker, Chiswell, Jackson, A.H. Beard, Dunlop, Sealy and many specialist designer furniture manufacturers.
Regular scheduled deliveries are made throughout NSW, ACT, Melbourne & Brisbane. The modern fleet of trucks and trailers ensures that bulk quantities of items can be moved with the smoothest possible ride and utmost reliability.

From time to time the need may arise for you to have a non-standard item transported somewhere in Australia. Pedemonts have transported the original Avro plane for QANTAS, the scoreboard for the North Queensland Cowboys, Coffee Carts for Douwe Egberts & signs for BP Australia, to name just a few.
As well as servicing its own fleet, Pedemont Truck Repairs handles vehicles for other transport companies, schools and private individuals. The fully qualified and skilled maintenance team is headed by Ian Benson, with professional support from John (Eustaquio) Lopez. The ultra-modern workshop is stocked with the latest equipment, and is the envy of many other companies. It was designed for smooth operation, high quality and cleanliness. The company's TruckSafe accreditation also extends to this workshop. The strict controls and demands of TruckSafe ensure that Pedemont Truck Repairs does everything by the book. The end result of this is customer satisfaction.

Pedemonts is committed to providing a safe workplace for all staff and visitors. All possible precautions have been taken, and Federal and State rules and regulations followed. Over the past few years this commitment has seen workplace injuries fall dramatically, and the associated worker's compensation claims drop from and average of 13 per year to a very encouraging average of 1 (the aim is 0!). Currently the injury board stands at a commendable 392 days since the last "lost time" accident, which surpasses the previous best of 198 days.
Strict regulations are set in place for almost every company procedure, including new employment, motor vehicle operations, loading and unloading, workshop activities, smoking, alcohol consumption, walkways and identification of unsafe work practices, to name just a few. Driving hours are strictly controlled and monitored, to ensure that they are kept within legal guidelines. Pedemonts realise that any injury to an employee not only causes physical suffering as well as loss of income, for both employee and employer, and productivity, but may also damage the morale of the work group. Pedemonts has an active workplace audit and accident investigation program, and has a fully trained Safety Officer. The workplace is kept clean and tidy at all times, and vehicles kept in the best possible condition. All of these measures help to make Pedemonts a safe and healthy environment for both employees and visitors alike. This attitude is not only confined to the warehouses and offices; it is reflected in every area of operation and in every vehicle that drives Australia's roads.
One of Pedemont's most recent achievements is, throughout all of the company's offices and warehouses, there have been no work-related "Lost-time" injuries for over 12 months. A great achievement!
